'Falling Skies' Season 5 Renewed, Release Date Rumors Peg Suggest June 2015 Premiere

The fifth and final season of the alien thriller, 'Falling Skies' is speculated to premiere sometime next year, most likely June. However, unlike the fourth installment, 'Falling Skies' Season 5 has only been booked for 10 episodes, according to reports.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, 'Falling Skies' show runner David Eick revealed that Tom will have an encounter with something that's neither an alien nor a human during the Season 4 finale.

According to Eick, the encounter will pave the way to completely new and surprising turns of events in the show's upcoming final season. The 'Falling Skies' executive also revealed that the highly anticipated season will shed light on many things, among them, is the real reason behind the Espheni invasion, which, according to Eick, is something 'Falling Skies' fans would never expect.

Recent reports are saying that 'Falling Skies' Season 5 has already started filming. In an interview with Eick by Flickering Myth last August 29th, the show producer divulged how he feels about starting the TV series production early.

Eick said that the fact that they have started a month before the actual shooting starts gives them an advantage since the enormous work that needs to be done for the show's special effects require a significant amount of time.

Despite the number of deaths suffered in the show by some of its important characters during 'Falling Skies' Season 4, the TV series' very own Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) seemed happy that they were given the opportunity to choose how the show was going to end, stating that "So rarely in television do you get to choose your own ending."

'Falling Skies' first premiered in June of 2011, and has since been a hit.
