Last week's premiere episode of "Extant' has captivated viewers with its cinematic quality and skillful story telling.

Executive producer Mickey Fisher said, "We set the bar high for ourselves. A lot of the stuff we're trying to pull off are typically the things that people do in feature films." High praises have been heaped on the first episode, with critics referring to it as less like a TV series and more like an extended sci-fi movie playing out in hour-long segments.

"It's no mistake that Steven Spielberg's name is on it," added executive producer Greg Walker.

After a strong first episode, spoilers are already coming out regarding what's in the future this season. Last week, it was shown how Molly (Halle Berry) was on a solo mission in outer space when she was visited by a being that took the form of her ex-boyfriend, Marcus. Upon returning to Earth after the year-long mission, Molly finds out that she's pregnant.

Fans are wondering whether Marcus will make another appearance in the upcoming episodes. The CBS show confirmed that viewers can expect to see more of Marcus.

"She's reminded that her past is as important as what's going on in her present because it's all relative," said Sergio Harford, who plays the role of Marcus, in an interview with TV Guide. Harford pointed out that the entity's appearance to Molly as her deceased first love has a lot to do with the big mystery of the show.

"You'll slowly start to figure out their past and the relationship that they had makes sense to what's going on currently in her situation, even with her family," added Harford.

The second episode of "Extant' will air on Wednesday night on CBS.
