Former 'Saturday Night Live' head writer Seth Myers will host the 2014 Emmy Awards tonight on the NBC network.
'Late Night with Seth Meyers' host will take the stage live at Nokia Theatre L.A. platform at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on the aforementioned network in order to honor the year's greatest television and acting performances.
"We're really hoping to have really good jokes all the time. With something like this, the level of success is because the jokes are really good," said Myers to Variety.
"We hope that by the time the monologue's over, which is obviously the most important thing the host does, that people are going to be good and ready for the next few hours of awards," he added.
In addition, the awards show will also air a special tribute in honor of the late great 'Mork and Mindy' actor and comedian Robin Williams, where the accolade will be presided by his longtime friend and colleague Billy Crystal of 'City Slickers' and 'When Harry Met Sally' fame.
"We felt we needed to do something powerful and memorable," said 2014 Emmys producer Don Mischer in reference to the upcoming Robin Williams homage, "Billy [Crystal] seemed like the perfect choice."
Last year, Williams honored his late friend and mentor Jonathan Winters at last year's Emmy Awards show, now that the 'Mrs. Doubtfire' actor will now be honored tonight, Sara Bareilles is expected to perform during the heartbreaking montage.
"No words," tweeted Crystal after he discovered that his 'Comic Relief' friend committed suicide on August 11 at the age of 63.
