Emma Stone in ‘Cabaret' on Broadway, Boyfriend Andrew Garfield Full of Praise
Emma Stone is fast becoming one of the golden actresses of this generation. She is considered to be in league with Jennifer Lawrence as young actresses who can perform comedic and dramatic roles without being stuck in a single genre.
Now, Stone is headed for a Broardway stage.
According to E! News, this is the second time Stone has been offered to do a Broadway show, but, because of scheduling conflicts, Stone was not able to commit the first time around.
It is also reported that Stone is very close to finalizing the 'Cabaret' deal since Michelle Williams will exit the show on November 2014. If she accepts, she will play Sally Bowles, a 19-year-old performer who is the center of the story.
Stone seemed to be a perfect fit for Broadway since she has multiple onstage talents. For one, Stone is a great singer, she was able to showcase her singing talents in 'Easy A' where she belted out "Pocketful of Sunshine" in the bathroom scene.
She is also a dancer. In an 'Ellen' DeGeneres TV show appearance, she danced during the Dance Dare Challenge and showed off her freestyle moves.
Aside from her skills, she has an innate stage presence. In 2012, 'Notebook' star Ryan Gosling shared his thoughts on the star, "When [Emma] came in the room, it all made sense. Show me someone that wouldn't give it all up for Emma Stone, and I'll show you a liar."
Her boyfriend, Andrew Garfield, did not lack praise either, "It was like I woke up when she came in... It was like diving into whitewater rapids and having no desire to hang onto the side," he said.
'Cabaret' will run until January 4, 2015.
