Eminem Wins 'Artist of the Year' at 2013 YouTube Awards, See ALL WINNERS from First Year Ceremony Here 

 

YouTube Music Awards 2013 kicked off their first annual night on Sunday night with lots of videos, celebrity sightings and interactive fun. They had more control of making it their own since it was streamed online instead of broadcast on television. 

Top awards went to Eminem tho won 'Artist of the Year', hip-hop duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis won 'Breakthrough Artist of the Year' and South Korean megastars, Girls' Generation won 'Video of the Year'. 

YouTube was showing through the awards show that they have intentions to keep growing their role in the music industry.

"There was nothing scripted tonight," said actor Jason Schwartzman, who, along with performance artist Reggie Watts, hosted the show, which was directed by Spike Jonze.

There were performances by Lady Gaga and Tyler, the Creator, and Earl Sweatshirt, of the group Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All.

YouTube has become one of the major sources of new music videos for fans and where people surf and find so many new bands, artists and videos.
