Eminem Protege' Skylar Grey's Debut Album Release Date, Details & New Single

Eminem's protégé Skylar Grey is set to release her debut album this summer.

Grey first became known for her vocal work on Eminem's "Love The Way You Lie" and Dr. Dre's "I Need A Doctor".  2 years ago Skylar Grey turned heads with her Grammy performance alongside Eminem and Dr. Dre on "I Need a Doctor" which started the buzz on who the unknown singer was.

The Wisconsin native Grey will be dropping her debut album, Don't Look Down on July 9, according to Rolling Stone.

"I just wanted to get music out so that I could start playing shows and promoting the album," Grey told the mag.

The carrier single "C'mon, Let Me Ride" featuring Eminem was released last year but the Grammy award-winning songstress promises new music ahead of the project's release. "I believe in hearing more than one song, because there are so many different sides to the album," she says. "So we came up with a plan, which is putting the album out July 9th, but before that putting out four singles where I do a little video for each one, just to get a lot of music out there.

Though the album won't be out for a few months, she will get to share more music leading up to the release. "I believe in hearing more than one song, because there are so many different sides to the album," she says. "So we came up with a plan, which is putting the album out July 9th, but before that putting out four singles where I do a little video for each one, just to get a lot of music out there."

Grey explores many darker subjects and lyrical content on her album like her new single out now, "Final Warning".   This was her latest single on her upcoming album which was released on April 16th.

Eminem's new album is expected to be out sometime in July 2013 now.
