Eminem New Album, 2013 Tour [UPDATE]: Dr. Dre, Tyler the Creator and Kendrick Lamar on Eighth Studio Album
Eminem is scheduled to release his eighth studio album [three years since Recovery] sometime after Memorial Day.
Some of the dates of Eminem's 2013 tour have been confirmed but more dates are being added soon. The 'Slim Shady' rapper will kick off the summer leg of his tour August 15th in Kiewit-Hasselt, Belgium and continue through Europe, ending at the Leeds Festival (Great Britain, U.K.) on August 25th. Tyler the Creator and Kendrick Lamar are rumored to be the opening act for Eminem's 2013 tour.
Legendary producer Dr. Dre is back behind the glass producing the record and couldn't be happier with the breath of fresh air.
"As you know, it's been almost 30 years for me in music. It's a little bit difficult to keep getting inspired to get back in there but you know, music is my first love and I'm going to continue to do that as long as I can," Dr. Dre recently told Power 106 radio.
Shady Records president Paul Rosenberg was the first to break news of the 8 Mile star's new record to Billboard in February.
"We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013. He's been working on it for some time. It's safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we're not exactly sure when. We've got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we're trying to see what else lines up."
Eminem's musical content never shies away from controversy. Lyrics tackle social issues ranging anywhere from drugs to physical abuse; sometimes encouraging both. With Eminem's reclusive nature it's hard to say what this album will be about. One thing is for sure, millions will hear it, and millions will love it.
