Eminem new album 2013 update!

Though there have been rumors of a new Eminem album coming out this summer, no recent news has emerged from Slim Shady's camp in some time. So far most of the details regarding the 2013 album is vague at best, with nothing confirmed. Reports first indicated a release date the day after Memorial Day. Now Eminem's new album is looking to drop closer to early July.

Some claim Eminem is tentatively holding off on his 2013 album release to make sure protégé and Shady/AfterMath/Interscope Records label mate Skylar Grey gets the attention she deserves on the release of her second album Don't Look Down, due out July 9^th.

However, surging rap superstar Macklemore may have spilled the beans via a promotional Twitter account connected to the "Thrift Shop" singer.

On May 31^st @MacklemorePromo tweeted: "Eminem's new album will be here July 2nd. Official release date."

Either way 2013 is bound to be a big year for rap and hip hop. Not only is Eminem likely releasing his new album in July 2013, but Kanye West is also releasing his sixth solo studio album Yeezus a few weeks before on Tuesday, June 18^th. Kanye is expected to have some competition from rising rap artists Mac Miller and Statik Selektah, who are also releasing new albums the same day.
