Eminem to Hold Off Release of New Album Until After Protege Skylar Grey's New Album Drops on July 9th?
Not only has Eminem been working hard on his newest album, but he has been producing his protege Skylar Grey's new album as well.
Eminem first worked with Grey on the Dr. Dre song, "I Need a Doctor". The song was a hit and buzz started to build about who was singing the hook on that song. Eminem and Grey formed a relationship and he offered to executive produce her new album.
Rumors have been flying for months on when Eminem's new album will finally release.
The first rumored release date for Eminem's record was May 28th which obviously didn't happen.
The next date everyone is talking about is July 2nd. This date makes sense because his live tour dates start in August and people would assume that he would release his new album so people know some of the songs when he plays them live.
However, Skylar Grey's new album Don't Look Down releases on July 9th and people would think that he would not want to overshadow her release since he is the executive producer and wants her to have her moment.
So if all that is true, this would push the release of Eminem's record to late July, which would still give his fans a few weeks to listen to the new music before his concert dates would start.
The good news is that the label has confirmed that Eminem's new album will definitely be out this summer. So even if we are not sure on an exact date yet, fans can rest assured of that.
Also, with Eminem having tour dates in Europe set up, he will have his new music out before then.
No official word on the name of the album, if it will be self titled or when they will release the official title of Eminem's new album.
