Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi show no signs of heading for a divorce, but cheating and and breakup rumors continue to swirl, especially following de Rossi's alleged rehab stint.

Ever since rumors went viral about DeGeneres' and de Rossi's possible marriage problems, people have wondered what the source of the tension is. More than one tabloid claims that the host's controlling ways is one of the main issues in the couple's marital problems.

A source said that "Ellen is domineering and Portia is passive. Ellen always calls the shots, and Portia never. Portia often felt like she'd been cut off from her friends because Ellen wanted her all to herself. Portia felt like she let Ellen turn her into the ultimate Stepford Wife."

DeGeneres' controlling nature reportedly led de Rossi to enter rehab in May. The actress supposedly sought treatment at Passages in Malibu following a major fight with her wife.

"Portia hasn't been happy for a while and was drinking and isolating herself, and Ellen confronted her," a source revealed, "Portia lost it and blamed Ellen for driving her to drink because of her controlling ways and said she wasn't in love with her anymore. Ellen was crushed and screamed at Portia to get out."

Friends of the couple are saying that these rumors of DeGeneres' controlling ways were blown out of proportion. The host herself has denied any reports of an impending split from her wife. Back in February, DeGeneres responded to the rumors when de Rossi was photographed without her wedding ring.

DeGeneres said, "She [Portia] goes, "I didn't wear it because when I ride horses and I'm holding the reins, it gives me a blister!'

This year the couple is set to celebrate their sixth wedding anniversary.
