Ed Sheeran Talks Collaborations with Taylor Swift, One Direction and Dwarf-Inspired "Hobbit" Track
If there's one man on the planet that can Taylor Swift and Harry Styles under one roof it has to be U.K. singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran. The "Lego House" writer reportedly wants to collaborate again with Swift and his friends from the superstar boy-band One Direction. The only condition for Sheeran to work with someone is that they are "passionate" about the project at hand.
When asked about a possible songwriting threesome Sheeran says he's not sure but that it had the potential to be something really special.
I don't know, I don't know. I want to work with anyone that is passionate," Sheeran told HollywoodLife exclusively. "It doesn't really matter as long as they enjoy it and they are passionate about it then I am willing to make something. Because everyone has the ability to make something great!"
Sheeran is coming off writing a song for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug soundtrack. Instead of slaying dragons to inspire the song, Ed channeled his inner-dwarf to finish the track. The ballad touches on all many of The Hobbit themes such as mountains, fire and camaraderie.
"Peter said, 'Focus on the last 10 minutes. That's what the song needs to reflect,'" Sheeran revealed. "He said, 'Write a song that takes the audience by the hand and leads them from Middle Earth back into reality.' So, yeah, I tried to do that."
