E3 2014 Update News: Last Of Us Remastered Trailer PS4 Release Date
The Last of Us swept fans right off their couches when it released on PS3 June 14, 2013. This year at E3 Sony announced the release of a remastered version for the next-gen console, PS4.
The remastered version of the game is expected to become available on July 29 of this year.
Changes made to the game will focus on graphical elements such as, character models, textures, lighting, etc. Another drastic change from the original, in terms of its aesthetics, is the consistency of the remastered version's 60 FPS (frames per second) at 1080p. Some fans may argue that, graphically, there are games far superior available on the PS4, Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition for example. However, The Last of Us received such high ratings for the PS3 that a demand or desire for a version like this stems from its popular content or story, not so much the visuals.
Naughty Dog also confirmed that players who've downloaded all the available DLC content for the PS3 copy, will be able to carry it over to the new remastered PS4 version. Additional features such as the Left Behind campaign and multiplayer map pack will also be available on the new version.
The Last of Us won "Best New Action Adventure Game" from Games Magazine and "User Choice Prize" at the PlayStation Awards 2013.
