“Dying Light” Release Date News: Techland Announces Xbox One, PS4, PC Versions, Not Available on Xbox 360 or PS3

Developer Techland has announced that its upcoming survival horror game 'Dying Light' will be released exclusively for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the PC. In fact, the Polish developer plans to release the game in North America on Jan. 27, 2015, and has canceled the game's release of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions for now.

In a recent post on its Facebook page, Techland wrote, "Much of this 'next-gen feel' is tightly connected to the technological side of 'Dying Light'. For instance, up to 200,000 objects can be displayed in the game at once," the post went on to mention, "Add to this our use of realistic, physics-based lighting technology and you really start to push the next-gen systems to the limits."

Meanwhile, Techland has further stated that the natural movement system, threefold character development, as well as large, open environment of 'Dying Light' have all contributed to the decision of the company to cancel the last-gen versions of the game.

"We hope you understand the hard choice we've had to make. With the launch just around the corner, we can't wait to show you 'Dying Light' in the state it was meant to be.... We're looking forward to your reactions and impressions as we release the game in January 2015," Techland has said.

In 'Dying Light, which is narrated from a first-person viewpoint, players will be able to explore the open world, look for items and fight the undead. In addition, players can equip themselves with weapons such as pistols, spiked baseball bats and electric axes. Players can also climb walls, swim through water, and explore the rooftops of buildings. 'Dying Light' is essentially smilar to a parkour course inside a video game.

The game was initially developed as a sequel to 'Dead Island', but eventually it turned into a new game owing to its assortment of new features.
