Dying Light PS4, Xbox One Release Date: Techland Announces Feb. 2015

The Polish video game developer, Techland, has disclosed that they required more time than expected to work on Dying Light. The game has now been postponed until February 15, 2015.

A recent release issued by the game developer reads, "We know you've been waiting on a Dying Light release date for quite some time now. It adds, "After careful consideration, we have decided to release our upcoming game in February 2015. Since this means Dying Light will launch a few months later than originally planned, we feel obliged to explain the reasons that influenced this important decision."

The release further states that at the time of starting the development of the game, they were committed to innovation and wanted to give the gamers the liberty of movement, something "unprecedented in open-world games." Following several enhancements and several months of toiling, they are now close to realizing their original vision and they feel that they cannot stop until the game is ready.

"We believe the Natural Movement element of our game will change what you expect from the genre, and we don't want to sacrifice any of its potential by releasing too early. This quality-focused thinking underlines all our development choices and we hope you share our belief that the gameplay must always come first," the release further stated.

It goes on to elucidate that the new date makes sure that the company is able to fully realize its vision of an innovative open-world game. According to Techland, they will not require making compromises or trade-offs on any of the five platforms that they are working on. "For you, it means an outstanding, original game that makes the wait more than worthwhile," it says.

It is expected that the zombie horror first person shooting game will run on 1080p on the PS4.
