Dwayne Wade affirmed the rumors that he is the father of a baby boy, except the mother is not his wife-to-be Gabrielle Union.

"I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy," said the 31-year-old Miami Heat athlete, during a news conference Monday in Denver.

Wade has been dating the 41-year-old actress since 2009, but they temporarily split up when they felt they grew apart from each other.

According to TMZ, Wade's third son, was born on November 10 in Los Angeles.   

After TMZ acquired the birth certificate they confirmed the baby's name as Xavier Zechariah Wade. Xavier's mother was identified as 31-year-old Aja Metoyer.

"I've always tried to show my importance in my kids' lives and it doesn't change now," said the three time NBA World Champion of the Miami Heat, according to the Sun Sentinel. "So, I, my lady and my family have continued to move forward, and I think that's evident with the ring and the proposal that I gave her."

Union was said to have been at first heated about the news, said an informant to E! Online yesterday, nonetheless the couple has reconciled.

The NBA player has two sons Zaire and Zion Wade from his previous marriage to Siohvaughn Funches. The former couple separated in 2007. Their divorce was completed in 2010.

No official word on who will be the main guardian of baby Xavier, though it look as if to be Metoyer, who has two other children with "Happy Endings" and "New Girl" actor Damon Wayans Jr., according to TMZ.

The website also revealed Wade is not recorded on the birth certificate as the father, although the child has his name and has went to visit his new son on numerous occasions.
