Duggars '19 Kids and Counting' News: Jessa Duggar Marries Ben Seewald, Strays from Wedding Traditions

Jessa Duggar, 21, of '19 Kids and Counting' fame, and Ben Seewald, 19, tied the knot on November 1 at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, Arkansas. There were nearly 1,000 guests present.

Jessa, the fifth eldest of Michelle and Joe Bob Duggar's children, and Ben got engaged in August. During their relationship, they abided by the Duggars' strict dating rules. Jill, her older sister, had kissed her husband for the first time at their June wedding. Jessa and Ben planned to save that moment for private, so they did not kiss at the wedding.

Jessa also broke with tradition by not wearing a white dress. She opted for a blue style one instead, while her bridesmaids and maid of honor, her sister Jinger, wore peach dresses. Her dress had a fully beaded bodice of Swarovski crystals and pearls. Ben opted for a navy suit with a peach bow tie.

Beyond that, the couple did not serve a wedding cake for the simple reason that Jessa does not like cake. Instead, the guests had brownies and ice cream sundaes with a variety of toppings including chocolate, caramel, cookies, and candy. The couple chose special flavors for their own sundaes: chocolate for Jessa and mint chocolate chip for Ben.

Insiders told Us Weekly that the wedding began with a rendition of "Amazing Grace." Ben's aunt, Rebecca Seewald then sang "Love Never Fails" as the bridesmaids entered the church. Jessa then entered to the tune of Erin Paynes' "Bridal March."

The couple also wrote their own vows and poured two vases of sand into one to symbolize their union.
