Duck Dynasty's Willie Robertson Appears at President Barack Obama's State of the Union Address as a Guest

Last night's State of the Union Address from President Barack Obama had many people in attendance and one of them happened to be Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson.

Robertson functions as the chief executive of the Robertson family business, Duck Commander. In addition, he stars alongside his entire family including his dad Phil, Uncle Si, and his three brothers on the A&E reality series. Robertson attended the speech as the guest of new Louisiana Republican Rep. Vance McAllister.

"I am proud to have my close friend, constituent and small business owner, Willie Robertson, attend tonight's State of the Union Address as my special guest. Willie is thankful for this opportunity and honored to attend. I look forward to the two of us representing the Fifth District in DC this evening and bringing some diversity to our nation's capital," said Louisiana Rep. McAllister in a statement to the press prior to President's Obama State of the Union Address speech.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, McAllister's election promotion received a major shot in the arm last year by the Duck Dynasty head of family Phil Robertson.

Phil was in the center of an intense mass media controversy when the A&E Network suspended him when he saidt Homosexuality is a sin in GQ Magazine.

"Don't be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers-they won't inherit the kingdom of God. Don't deceive yourself. It's not right," said Robertson in the GQ article when he paraphrased the Bible.

The patriarch of the Robertson family was returned to his show after a major public uproar in late December.

The critically acclaimed reality series Duck Dynasty airs on the A&E network on Wednesdays at 10pm EST.
