'Duck Dynasty' Season 4 / Alan Robertson On Growing A Beard: "Are You Kidding Me" / New Episode Preview [TRAILER]
A Duck Dynasty family member without a beard? Say it isn't so!
The Robertson men have become famous for three things: God, ducks, and beards. But as with any family, there's always a black sheep. Jase, Willy and Jep's oldest brother Alan is that black sheep.
The newest face on Duck Dynasty Season 4 is a clean-shaven pastor from Louisiana.
In an interview with The 700 Club, Alan was asked if he'd ever consider growing a beard now that he's on to be a reoccurring member of the popular show.
"I don't want to get stuck with that look, I mean, are you kidding me?" Alan said.
Alan's wife Lisa agrees: "You know, when there's things crawling out of your beard or whenever you've got food left from lunch or dinner, I don't know, that just kind of grosses me out," she explained.
Though he didn't have the beard, Alan confessed his younger days were just as wild. Like his father Phil, Alan's teenage years were full of drinking and "cutting up." After moving to New Orleans for a year, the young adolescent realized his priorities in life, returned home, and was baptized by his father in the river behind their house.
Staying out the Duck Dynasty spotlight for the first three seasons, Alan and his wife Lisa feel like its their calling to use the show's popularity to spread the Gospel.
"I really feel like God had prepared us for such a moment as this and when America needs some family to say, 'Hey, we can make mistakes, you know. We can come from nothing. We can have all these things now,'" he said. "Ultimately none of it matters except that we're saved and we're gonna be in heaven forever with Christ."
Tune in for Duck Dynasty Season 4, Wednesday at 10 PM on A&E.
