Duck Dynasty's Miss Kay Robertson Reveals She and Phil Gave Birth to Alan Before They Were Married

Duck Dynasty's star Miss Kay Robertson unveiled in a new interview that she and Phil gave birth to Alan before they were married.

"Well, this is the first time I've shared this, aside from giving my testimony [in church]," said Robertson to US Weekly, "When I made a vow to God and to [Phil], it was March 22, 1964, [but] it wasn't legal. That's the truth. We didn't do the legal papers until April 11, 1968, after Alan, my oldest, was born. Alan says, 'Yeah, I would be the B [b*****d] in the family.'"

Miss Kay was only 16 when the couple unofficially tied the knot 50 years ago.

Unfortunately for the young couple, Phil did not accept Christ as his Lord and Savior at the time, and he was severely addicted to alcohol. As a result, she contemplated committing suicide many decades ago when he previously accused her of cheating on him one night.

"I realized I just wanted to go to sleep for a long time. I did not consciously want to kill myself, I just wanted to take enough Tylenol ... to have a nice, long rest. I just didn't want to live anymore ... if I could just go to sleep and not wake up. And I wanted to scare the daylights out of Phil," wrote Robertson in the Women of Duck Commander book, "I wanted to punish him for everything that he had put me through. I told myself I didn't care if I slept forever, but deep down I don't think I really wanted to die."

In the book, she revealed how God used her first son Alan guide her from committing such a tragic act.

"Through my sobs I heard the sound of little feet headed toward the bathroom door. I could tell all three boys in their house shoes were coming to talk to me. [Her eldest son Alan told her] 'Mom, don't cry, God will take care of us,'" wrote Robertson in the book, "In an instant it was like a light bulb came on for me. 'What am I doing?' I asked myself. 'I have three little boys. I can't leave them with a drunk.'"

Then she said a prayer to God and forgave her husband for his wrongdoings and the couple moved on from that terrible night many decades ago.

Now in 2014, Mrs. Robertson joked about her multiple marital dates to her longtime husband in her recent discussion with US Weekly.

"Now, the family laughs about it," said Robertson to US Weekly, "People ask, 'When was your mama's wedding?' and the boys say, 'Which, the pioneer wedding or the regular wedding?'"

The 66-year-old reality star also talked about her current relationship with the patriarch of the Robertson clan.

"I love that he's a man's man and a take-charge guy," said Robertson, "But what's not talked about is how kind, gentle, and good he is. I can't tell you how many times he's fixed me breakfast in bed."

Season 6 of the critically acclaimed reality series Duck Dynasty airs Wednesday at 10:00 p.m. EST on the A&E network.
