Duck Dynasty's Jase Robertson Grateful For Sen. Trent Franks Support At His Miracle Daughter Mia's Charity Event (VIDEO)

Duck Dynasty star Jase Robertson and his family joined forces with Arizona Representative Trent Franks, when the famous family held a press conference at Capitol Hill regarding the issue of cleft lip and palate, a condition that affects Jase and Missy's 10-year-old daughter Mia directly.

"She has trouble eating, breathing and talking - these are three basic (parts) to the quality of life," said Jase, according to the Washington Times.

So far, Mia has had four major surgeries regarding the issue, she had her first surgery when she was only three months old.

Jase revealed that he reached out to numerous parents whose children are suffering from the same illness that begins during childbirth, including one family he visited in Texas in order to give them hope and advice.

"I said, 'Look, here is a picture of my daughter [Mia].' I held it up. I said I don't have anything else to say except 'it's going to be OK. You can make this.'"

Like Mia, Rep. Franks was also born with the same problem that many children currently suffer from all over the world.

"I'm grateful that we got a chance to meet her today, and I just think she's going to do great things for an awful lot of children, and maybe the difficulty she's gone through will really save a lot of other children from going even into more darkness and difficulty than we can imagine," said Franks.

As a result, little Mia explains why she created the Mia Moo Fund for kids who are going through a similar situation.

"I like to help kids so they won't have to go through hard stuff," said Mia to The Washington Times.

Season 6 of the critically acclaimed reality series Duck Dynasty airs Wednesday at 10:00 p.m. EST on the A&E network.
