Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson Attacked for New Comments on Homosexuals, 'I'm Trying to Help Those Poor Souls and Turn Them to Jesus' (VIDEO)
Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson is being criticized again for comments he made about gay people during an appearance at the "Rock the South" music festival in Cullman, Alabama.
Although the media frequently reports that the hit reality show Duck Dynasty has lost ratings since Robertson first expressed his views on homosexuality, the show continues to be the number one cable telecast for Wednesday nights.
According to Al.com, Robertson addressed his stance on homosexuals again at the music festival in Cullman.
"I'm actually a nice man, ...I'm trying to help those poor souls and turn them to Jesus," Robertson allegedly said at his appearance.
In a clip posted on YouTube, the duck commander does not distinctly mention the LGBT community, but you can hear the reality star urging those in attendance to vote "ungodly" politicians out of U.S government office.
"Whatever you do, whatever you do, go register to vote especially on this next presidential election," Robertson said, "Register to vote and you ought to register for the House and the Senate too. Get your tail down there and vote this ungodly bunch out of Washington, D.C."
Another portion of his appearance focused on his belief that God gave animals to human beings to be used for food, "God says we can whack 'em and stack 'em irregardless of all this political correct crap," he said.
Robertson also told the crowd where his taste in music lies and revealed that he does not own a cell phone, a computer, a watch, among other items.
It was not long before his comments made mainstream headlines again and people took to Twitter to discuss them.
"Hate masquerading as love," one who opposed his comments tweeted. Another protested to take the family "off the air."
Others once again stood behind Robertson, one commenter wrote, "I see no issue with what he said. Free speech.. if you don't like it, then don't listen."
Another supporter said, "I'm totally on board with him, but I can't help but feel like it's a matter of time till he's off the air because the gay mafia will get him."
