Duck Dynasty Robertson Family to Appear at 2014 Alaska State Fair

The Robertson family from the acclaimed A&E reality series "Duck Dynasty" have been confirmed to appear at the upcoming 2014 Alaska State Fair in August.

"Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson, his wife Miss Kay, their sons Al and Jep and Phil's brother Si are expected to attend the event in three months time. However, there is no word as of yet whether Phil and Miss Kay's other two boys Willie and Jase would be available the fair in August.

Fair Marketing Director Dean Phipps explained the reason why the "Duck Dynasty" cast were chosen to attend despite some people in Alaska still not being happy with Phil Robertson's comments in a GQ article back in December.

"We're the Alaska State Fair, which means we represent all Alaskans," said Phipps to AP. "And if there's anything that all Alaskans have it's an opinion- and it's all not the same... there's a ton of them that are fans of 'Duck Dynasty.'"

Phipps also eased concerns that the Duck Dynasty cast members would be forced upon people. He explained that they will be at a set event in which people will actually have to choose to go to.

"It's not something that's right there at the gate when you walk in," said Phipps. "You have to actually make a choice to go."

On August 30, the Robertson family will host "An Evening with the Robertson's" at Alaska State Fair in Palmer, Alaska, where the "Duck Dynasty" cast will talk about their traditional family, their reality show and their Duck Commander franchise.

The 2014 Alaska State Fair starts on August 21 and ends on September 1. Other celebrities are also expected to attend and the fair includes acappella group Pentatonix, alternative rock band Seether, country music soloist Brett Eldredge, country group Thompson Square, and rock groups Three Days Grace and Tesla to name a few.
