'Driveclub' PS4 News: PS Plus Release Date Delayed Over Connection Issues
Just two days after the arrival of 'Driveclub' on the PS4 which launched Tuesday, Oct. 7 in North America, and gamers are already experiencing connection issues with the game.
Sony Entertainment and Evolution Studio's 'Driveclub' is off to a rocky start after several gamers have complained about having connection issues with the racing game.
'Driveclub' is an immersive car-racing game best played with a group of friends, or a club, hence the name 'Driveclub'.
The new title is a social game that allows gamers to race each other, share achievements, send and receive challenges, and create their own squads together with their friends.
The PS Plus version of the highly anticipated racing game as well as the 'My Driveclub' application were supposed to launch together with the retail version of the game, however it was temporarily delayed at the very last minute because of "heavy traffic" and "multiplayer connectivity issues."
Game Director Paul Rustchynsky posted an apology letter on Facebook regarding the situation.
"We are sorry if you are having a hard time getting online as we know many of you are. Please be aware that the game will automatically keep trying to connect you. Once you're online, you should have no further problems during your session," Rustchynsky assured.
"In order to help all 'Driveclub' players who have the game already, we're temporarily holding back the PS Plus Edition and the 'My Driveclub' app to ease the load and traffic to servers," he added.
Those who have already bought the game will still be able to play the game offline. All unlocked cars, races, earned fame and challenges will be saved once the players are online.
Meanwhile, players of other new game releases like 'NBA 2K15' and 'Destiny' were also reported to be experiencing the same problems in connecting to servers, according to a PSN Network Update.
'Driveclub' was launched Oct. 7 in North America, Oct. 8 in Europe and Oct.10 in the United Kingdom.
