Doctor Who Season 8 Premiere Date, Spoilers: Devious Lady Banker (Played by Keeley Hawes) to Make Problems

The Doctor has a new face, a previously upgraded Tardis, and a new season of time-traveling adventures to go with. The only thing that's missing is a fresh new villain to make life miserable for him. And according to a recent report, that is on the menu for this season.

Television actress Keeley Hawes will star as a mysterious shady banker in the new season, someone who's after the Doctor and means business.

Stephen Moffat recently expounded on this exciting choice of Keeley to make an appearance in this series, saying:

"Anyone watching Jed Mercurio's amazing 'Line of Duty' (in which Hawes has previously starred) will know that Keeley Hawes is having one hell of year. And now it's about to get even better as she achieves the greatest villainy yet attempted on Doctor Who: She plays a banker."

According to BBC America, the Doctor, played by the newly minted Peter Capaldi, and his companion Clara Oswald, will encounter Delphox on a strange and foreign planet during the course of the coming season.

For her part actress Hawes, who has also held a role in films "The Avengers" and "The Bank Job" is excited about her episode-long addition to the Dr. Who cast saying:

"I am delighted to join 'Doctor Who' and to be working with this incredible team. Ms. Delphox is a great character and someone I've had a lot of fun playing."

"Dr. Who" season 8 was expected to be released in the summer of 2014 but sources report that that date will more likely be in Fall.

The 'series' or season, will run uninterrupted and will include at least 13 episodes, according to Stephen Moffat.
