Scarlett Johansson to Play Dolly Parton in Biopic?
It has been reported that a biopic about country star Dolly Parton is in the works, as fans of the diva speculate who among the young stars of today will be able to play her in the movie.
Parton herself has given her opinion on the matter, and thinks that Scarlett Johansson would be perfect for the role. In a recent interview with People magazine, she shared why she thinks the "Lucy' actress would make a good candidate.
"Well you know what, I'm doing a musical of my life story"”and I'm also doing a movie version! When we started talking about a movie, people had mentioned Scarlett Johansson. I guess she's full bosomed," said Parton.
"I think somebody like Scarlett Johansson, somebody like that as an actress for the film, whereas a Kristin Chenoweth would be great for stage because she's little and has that great voice. At one time, back when I had started working on this film several years ago, I had thought about Scarlett Johansson. They're all bigger than me, of course, but that doesn't matter!" she added.
It was back in May when Parton dropped the news that she was planning a biopic. She is currently one of the busiest stars nowadays, as she continues to perform and venture out towards her other interests. She has a theme park opening for this year and hopes to follow that with a cosmetics line.
The 68-year old singer has been in the music industry for decades and has also tried her hand in acting over the years, such as her role in the 1989 original ensemble film "Steel Magnolias' with Julia Roberts, Sally Field, Shirley Maclaine, and Daryl Hannah.
