‘Doctor Who’ Season 8 Spoilers: First Episode Leaked Online

Popular series 'Doctor Who' fell into some trouble one week ago, as it was reported that the scripts of the first 5 episodes of the latest season were leaked online via BBC's Head Office in Miami. Now, it has been confirmed that a rough edit of the first full episode starring Peter Capaldi as the new Doctor has appeared on the Internet weeks before the scheduled transmission date.

Radiotimes.com has reported that it has seen the black and white footage branded with BBC Worldwide watermarks. Many visual effects shots appear to be missing, and it uses a placeholder title sequence from Matt Smith's last series. Overlooking these details, the footage appears to be Peter Capaldi's first episode in its entirety. It is now available online and being traded on pirate sites long before its broadcast on August 23 on BBC.

It is said that the leaked episode surfaced due to the same security lapse that resulted to the leakage of the five "Doctor Who' scripts. It has also been confirmed that other scripts and documents are now appearing in public Google searches despite being stored on BBC Worldwide Servers.

Six "Doctor Who' video files were listed on this server, and while at the time of writing only the first episode has surfaced, there is still a big possibility of the other videos emerging online.

The BBC has urged fans to keep any leaked materials to themselves and not to share them online. The network has since launched a #keepmespoilerfree social media campaign to encourage "Doctor Who' supporters not to share Season 8 plot points and sensitive materials ahead of broadcast, an initiative that has been well supported by fans of the popular TV show.
