Django Unchained Actress Danièle Watts Prostitute Accusations: Tearful After LAPD Suspected Her of Being a Prostitute [VIDEO]
'Django Unchained' actress Danièle Watts recently went on social media to reveal what happened to her when the LAPD allegedly accused her of being a prostitute.
"Today I was handcuffed and detained by 2 police officers from the Studio City Police Department after refusing to agree that I had done something wrong by showing affection, fully clothed, in a public place," wrote Watts via her Facebook account on September 11.
"When the officer arrived, I was standing on the sidewalk by a tree. I was talking to my father on my cell phone. I knew that I had done nothing wrong, that I wasn't harming anyone, so I walked away. A few minutes later, I was still talking to my dad when 2 different police officers accosted me and forced me into handcuffs."
Watts' husband Brian James Lucas also went on Facebook to explain why he believes he and his wife were harassed after they kissed each other in public.
Lucas wrote on his official Facebook Page using the username 'Cheffy BeLive' that authorities assumed they were people of ill repute based on their appearances.
The police issued the following statement regarding the matter, "Upon further investigation it was determined that no crime had been committed," said LAPD in a press release, "Ms. Watts and her companion were subsequently released."
Apparently, the police were sent to respond to a call about indecent exposure, and that's when they spotted Danièle Watts.
Watts currently stars on FX comedy series 'Partners,' starring Kelsey Grammer, Martin Lawrence and Telma Hopkins.
