Disciple: Watch New Powerful Interview with Singer Kevin Young & Hear about the Latest with the Christian Metal Band (VIDEO)
"Disciple", the Knoxville,TN based Christian metal band, has been busy touring since their latest album O God Save Us All released in late November of 2012.
The latest album is a collection of hard rock songs that began to wear on your heart after hearing the lyrics. Lead vocalist, Kevin Young and his band were determined to make a record that would have fans waiting a impact of a stage dive. "My entire approach to writing songs is how is this going to go over live" Young stated. "That's what's most important to me: How is an audience going to respond to it? We want our songs to have a lot of energy, to get people moving, and to get them to respond".
With the 11 track album, the record hit number 5 on Billboard Christian Songs chart, and number 9 in the Hard Rock chart. All the songs on the album create a cinematic point of view for the listener that helps them to engage the true meaning of the hard metal Christian songs. "It's a narrative: if there was a soundtrack to a movie made about a life of a Christian, this would be it. Before you're a Christian, life feels a certain way. Then you are introduced to the Gospel, receiving him and walking with him. The album covers all those bases. Its about the Life of a Christian."
Along with their latest album, the band has been touring around the states spreading Gods love and mission through concerts and online journals. The band has started video taping journals of their experiences on the road and who they meet along the way.
YouTube contains two journals so far that are at least two minutes a piece that gives fans perfect insight into the daily lives of the "Disciple". Its shows the bands character and live concert views of the crowd head banging to rock music. Along with showing great characteristics of the crew, the guys began to talk about being on tour and the experience. "
We want people to walk away from our songs directed or pointed in his direction." I don't mean to be so super-spiritual about it, but I think God saves us so we can shine his light on someone else. I want to do things that have an eternal impact, and I believe that not only means pointing people to Christ, but bringing glory to Him."
The band is going to be touring throughout the first of next year. For more information, see their website.
