Hip Hop mogula P.Diddy formally known as Sean "Puffy" Combs launched his newest TV project, Revolt, which will be bringing music fans of all kinds a new outlet for music on television.
During the launch there were a few technicalities and if you were hit by those or you just missed the launch, you can check it out down below glitch free!
The launch took place in front of Biggie's place of residence. Puffy stood on the steps in front of Big's home and gave viewers a complete run down of what they can expect from the show in the future.
In short, Revolt will be the Sports Center of music focusing primarily on music videos and trending news in the music industry, nothing more and nothing less.
"I want to know, who is Taylor Swift?" Combs said. "Why is Miley Cyrus twerking? Why did Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake go on tour? Why did Kanye West call his daughter 'North'? The industry of music is just as important, or more important, as the industry of sports. Sports are covered in a serious manner and we want to follow in those footsteps."
Most of us have to rely on catching music videos online because cable shows who once catered to that genre have stepped away from the format because it wasn't what advertisers were willing to invest in.
Music networks Vh1, BET, MTV, and FUSE are nothing like they used to be. When these networks launched they actually played music every hour on the hour. Today these networks focus primarily on reality shows and sitcoms hence the struggling music industry not spending as much cash producing flashy music videos that we grew to love back in the day.
Puffy did make it clear that just because he's a Hip Hop mogul doesn't mean REVOLT is going to focus primarily on that genre of music. He announced two shows that will focus on rock.
"People have made an assumption, because I'm a hip-hop artist and I'm African-American that I'm going to try to make a second version of BET, "Puffy said, "Which I'm not."
As Puffy stood on the front porch, Biggie's 1994 hit "Juicy" played as the opening video and the rest will be history. You can watch Revolt TV live online or find it on your Time Warner Cable and Comcast Networks.
