Dexter Season 8 Episode 3: "What's Eating Dexter Morgan?" airs Sunday, July 14 at 9 PM ET on Showtime.

Season 8 of Dexter has started off in pretty usual Dexter fashion. In the first couple episodes we have a new killer in Miami. He takes parts of brains out of every victim. Big whoop.

Season 8 is special because now a new serial killer expert has joined the police force: Dr. Vogel. She smells Dexter a mile away for the killer that he is. In fact that's why she's come to Miami, to work with Dexter on finding the new killer. Vogel is afraid the killer may be one of her former patients.

It look's like Debra is still a ticking time bond. In the Episode 3 preview trailer Jennifer Carpenter's character continues her erratic alcohol abuse, barely escaping a DUI from her former police department.

Also in the sneak peak Dexter seems to opening up about his personal life to Dr. Vogel. She knows about Deb's condition and even knows Deb shot and killed LaGuerta.

In a surprise twist Vogel asks why Dexter didn't kill Debra once she figured out what he was doing? Not that Vogel would "advocate such a thing" [right...] but she wondered why, if not getting caught was rule #1 of the code, why Dexter would disobey.

Dexter answers because he loves her. As we've seen in previous seasons of Dexter, Deb and her brother have had several "interesting" phases of love life. Vogel knows and is slowly pushing her way into Dexter's brain.
