Before we know what can happen in Season 8, we need to look back at some key moments in Dexter Season 7.

Here are a few spoilers to mull over until the season premiere tonight.

Probably the freshest memory of Season 7, was Debra Morgan [Jennifer Carpenter] choosing to shoot and murder her boss, Lt. Maria LaGuerta [Lauren Velez] to preserve her brother's true serial killer identity.

This storyline will obviously manifest itself in Season 8 and provide Dexter and his sister with a world of problems.

According to the Season 8 preview trailer, Debra tells Dexter she, "shot the wrong person in that trailer." After killing LaGuerta, an already emotionally unstable Deb turns to hard drugs like cocaine and Xanax to escape her pain.

According to some Season 8 rumors, the new villain to hit Miami is Dr. Evelyn Vogel. Vogel is a British psychiatrist who apparently has a sixth sense: identifying serial killers. Sure Dexter took care of Doakes, Lundy and Prado, but will the Season 8 villain be the straw that broke the killer's back?
