'Dexter' Episode 3 Preview 'What's Eating Dexter Morgan': Deb's Situation Gets Worse, Watch Scene Here (VIDEO)
'Dexter' has been back for two episodes on Showtime of the final season and Deb is not doing so hot.
She is blaming her big brother Dexter (and rightfully so) for causing her life to spin out of control and make her compromise everything that she has worked for in her career and believes in personally. She also has finally realized that Dexter needs her as much as she used to think she needed him.
Much of episode two dealt with Deb's cover up story of what happened when Dexter killed Briggs and also the growing dynamic between Dexter and Dr. Evelyn Vogel.
At the end of episode 1, Vogel shows Dexter pictures that he drew when he was a child. This spooks Dexter and he wants to know how she has them and knows about Harry's "code". In episode 2 he eventually shows Dexter video footage of his father coming to her to have counseling sessions about Dexter's "darkness".
Dr. Vogel has Dexter on a manhunt because she has him convinced that the serial killer who has shown up and cuts a piece of his victims brains out is going to come after her.
They are doing a good job making you not want to trust her, but at the same time wanting to think that she really does have the best interest of Dexter at heart. The writers always do a good job of keep the audience guessing at who the real killers are and changing what you think you know on its head.
Deb is having to cover her tracks with her new boss on Briggs death and when she goes to locate Briggs jewelry stash, the hit man El Sapo follows her, takes the jewelry and her gun and gives her a beating when she tries to fight back.
El Sapo is found dead in his car later that night and when Dexter is called to the crime scene in the morning he finds a piece of blood in the broken glass windshield. He takes it in to examine it and finds out it is Deb's blood. Dexter confronts Deb and she admits she did it out of rage because of being assaulted and having the jewelry stolen.
Near the end of the episode Deb walks away from Dexter after talking, saying that she has killed before and might kill again.
The preview for this coming week's episode 3, shows Deb coming in to confess, not sure about what, but she ends up collapsing in the interrogation room with Dexter catching her fall.
Fans of the show are unfortunately predicting that Deb's situation is only going to get worse for much of the season and she will be on the brink of losing it with all that has happened to her and because of the people she has killed.
We hope that Deb can turn it around and Dexter can help her get out of this depression before the end of the show. But the show might very well end on a dark note, so we will have to wait and see.
