If a recently leaked synopsis of "Devious Maids" is to be believed, viewers will watch the most theatrical episode of the series yet on Sunday, June 1.

Titled "Betrayal," Episode 7 of "Devious Maids" Season 2 will show Marisol trying to convince Nicholas to do away with Opal, his longtime trusted maid. In the previous episode, titled "Private Lies," we saw that Marisol found out that Opal was in a secret relationship with Nicholas' deceased wife Dahlia. What remains to be seen is whether Marisol will be able to prove Opal's illegal behavior to Nicholas.

Season 2 has much more drama in store for the viewers. The synopsis states, "Reggie grows jealous when he learns of Rosie's history with Spence," adding, "Carmen tries to let Ty down easy; Zoila gets closer to Javier, and Adrian is suspicious of the relationship between Evelyn and Tony."

"Devious Maids" Season 2 Episode 7 has been aptly titled "Betrayal." Fans of the show are already aware that "Devious Maid" creator Mark Cherry has a knack of naming his episodes after celebrated plays, making use of familiar drama as some kind of a guide. Similarly, "Betrayal" refers to the well-known play penned by Harold Pinter, considered to be one of the best works of the playwright.

In Pinter's "Betrayal," the plot revolves around a seven-year illegal affair of two married couples - Emma and Robert and Jerry (a close friend of Robert) and Judith. Jerry and Emma have been having an affair for five year right under the noses of their respective spouses. Finally, Emma suffers from guilt and confesses all about her infidelity to her husband, betraying Jerry.

Although Emma confessed her sleazy behavior, she continues her affair with Jerry. She also tells Jerry that her marriage to Robert broke down following her confession. However, the truth is that all along Robert was aware that his wife was cheating on him.

When all is said and done, it would be interesting to know as to which characters were in Cherry's mind while naming the episode "Betrayal." Has he written the episode keeping in mind Adrian, Evelyn and Tony? In fact, all the characters in the show are eventually betrayed in some form or the other.

The episode will be aired at 10.00 p.m. June 1 (Sunday) on ABC Network.
