Detroit Tigers vs Baltimore Orioles Live Stream Free: Watch MLB Playoffs Baseball 2014 Game 2 Online (Roster News, Schedule)
The Detroit Tigers battles the Baltimore Orioles this Friday afternoon at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Baltimore, Maryland. The game will begin at 12:07 pm ET and can be watched online through live stream via the link provided below (free for subscribers).
Tigers All-Star former ace Justin Verlander (15-12, 4.54 ERA) is looking to ignite his team to a victory in Game 2 of the 2014 American League Division Series Round against Baltimore's high powered offense.
Verlander's fellow ex-Cy Young Award winner David Price gave his thoughts about the importance of having reliable pitchers during the playoffs in October.
"Pitching. That's what wins ballgames," said Price to reporters.
"If we put up zeroes early, that kind of gives our offense a chance to kind of settle into the game. They know they don't have to put up a three- or four-spot because we're down."
Meanwhile, the Orioles will attempt to counter slugger Miguel Cabera and the rest of the Tigers offense when Baltimore's formidable starting pitcher Wei-Yin Chen (16-6, 3.54 ERA) opposes Verlander tomorrow afternoon.
Orioles' closer Zach Britton talked about how his team's pitching measures up to Detroit's strong pitching rotation.
"We've got a good bullpen, we have a good starting staff," said Britton to reporters, "Anytime there's a close game, we're confident we can pull it out, and we've done that a lot this year."
Britton finished his terrific season as Baltimore's top reliever by completing 37 out of 41 save opportunities in the 2014 regular season.
"Britton has really established himself since we last saw Baltimore. He's one of the best closers in the game," said Tigers manager Brad Ausmus to reporters in reference to the young Orioles closer.
"They acquired Andrew Miller, who obviously had a track record coming in. And now you've got a closer who can pitch the sixth or seventh inning. That's not a bad position to be in if you're the Orioles. Their bullpen has done a good job, and that's part of the reason they've been so successful."
