‘Destiny’ PC Release Date: Mystery Remains, But Fastest Selling Game in History
Even though Bungie's recently released title, 'Destiny', turned out to be a major success on next-gen consoles, the developers have remained silent about its launch date on PC.
GamesRadar reported that gamers and experts deemed the game "big, beautiful, and generous" in terms of its storyline and graphics.
According to Michael Pachter, an analyst at Wedbush Securities, 'Destiny' earned $325 million in sales during the first five days of its availability on the market. This accounts for approximately five million units sold at $65 each, making it the fastest selling game of all time.
Erik Hirshberg, CEO of Activision Publishing, told Polygon that the developers are taking extra precautions to ensure that the game lives up to the expectations.
He said, "You know, developing on PC is a different animal than developing for consoles and so we just want to make sure that we're putting one foot in front of the other and getting it right, and that it's of the highest possible quality. But obviously I see the same things about the natural fit."
Again, no exact date has been given to 'Destiny' for the PC. In a statement, Polygon announced "Don't hold your breath for an announcement in the next few months while the marketing blitz is focused on the existing products, but it's safe to say that one day in the future, PC gamers will get their Destiny."
According to reports, 'Destiny' has the highest pre-ordered sales in history. It is available PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360; however, Activision said that the game is most likely not to be released on the Nintendo Wii U platform.
