Destiny PC Port Release Date News: Launch Date Still Unknown, Developers Talk Windows Version

The PC version of Bungie's hit new title 'Destiny' remains unconfirmed, despite the grand success of the next-gen console version.

Gamers around the world are waiting for the release date of the PC port of 'Destiny', a first person shooter video game that runs on PlayStation 4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, however, there's been little-to-no word about its launch date.

Fans of the video game were thrilled last summer, when Activision CEO Erik Hirshberg talked about the possibility of having a PC version of the game.

"It is [a good fit], and it's something we're talking about and looking at very carefully, and obviously it makes a lot of sense with the genre and the type of game it is," Hirshberg told Polygon.

Hirshberg pointed out that although he thinks Destiny would be good for PC, he is not announcing anything officially.

"You know, developing on PC is a different animal than developing for consoles and so we just want to make sure that we're putting one foot in front of the other and getting it right, and that it's of the highest possible quality. But obviously I see the same things about the natural fit," Hirshberg added.

In addition to this, the game's writer Eric Osborne said that although the creators like the possibility of making 'Destiny' for PC, they are still in the process of discussing the idea.

"We have a lot of people who play on PCs. We have a lot of appetite to build that experience," Osborne said during E3.

"We haven't announced it yet, but we're looking forward to talking more about that kind of stuff in the future," he added.

Perhaps the title's fans will have to wait a little longer for the PC version of the game.

'Destiny' is a post-apocalyptic first-person shooter that allows players to take the role of a "guardian." The game was released on September 9, 2014, and reportedly sold more than $500 million within 24 hours of release.
