Demi Lovato Says 'My Jesus Loves All' Before Attending LGBT Pride Parades in New York and Los Angeles (PHOTO)

Pop Star and Actress Demi Lovato maintained her support for the gay community at recent LGBT parades in California and New York this June.

"You don't have to hate, because my Jesus loves all," said Lovato when she was the Grand Marshall at the L. A. Pride rally which took place from June 6-8.

The 21-year-old New Mexico native went on social media and posted a photo of her and the transgender star of Orange Is the New Black Laverne Cox (who was the Grand Marshall at the New York Pride events that started on June 24 and ended on June 29).

"I am so proud that I was able to share the @NYCPride platform with @LaverneCox & share the positive message of equality for all. #PridePortraits," wrote Lovato on her Instagram account, June 29.

Before Lovato attended last month's gay pride events, she issued the following statement:

"It's such an honor to be a part of both L.A. and NYC Pride celebrations this year," said Lovato in a statement, "I have been an active advocate of the LGBT community and am wholly committed to supporting individuality and being comfortable in one's own skin. I am thrilled to be a part of both events as they are a wonderful celebration of independence and self-confidence."

Lovato revealed in a previous interview that she believes that God has a purpose in her life, which allowed to persevere against her past issues of bulimia and self-mutilation.

"I'm not super religious, but I grew up Christian and I believe in God. When I'm in L.A., I don't talk about it that much because people are very judgmental, but I just feel like God gave me a voice, not just to sing with. He put me through those things, which seemed horrible at the time, but they were so worth it. With the obstacles I've overcome, I can help people," said Lovato to Cosmopolitan magazine last year.
