DC Comics Movie Release Date Confirmation, Cast Rumors: 'Aquaman', 'Wonder Woman', 'The Flash'
Warner Bros. Entertainment has just confirmed the release dates of many highly-anticipated DC Comic superhero films.
The news broke after a shareholders meeting that revealed which movies were slated for release and some of the studio plans surrounding their production.
As it stands DC Comic book fans are looking forward to the upcoming 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' film that is slated for a March 25, 2016 debut.
Right after that, fans should expect to see 'Suicide Squad' in theaters within the same year. According to the official press release, the list of films moviegoers can expect from the DC Comics stable are as follows:
- 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' directed by Zack Snyder (2016)
- 'Suicide Squad' directed by David Ayer (2016)
- 'Wonder Woman' starring Gal Gadot (2017)
- 'Justice League Part One' directed by Zack Snyder, with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams reprising their roles (2017)
- 'The Flash' starring Ezra Miller (2018)
- 'Aquaman' starring Jason Momoa (2018)
- 'Shazam' (2019)
- 'Justice League Part Two' directed by Zack Snyder (2019)
- 'Cyborg', starring Ray Fisher (2020)
- 'Green Lantern' (2020)
Evidently, many of the lead roles have also been disclosed by WB, which is sure to excite fans.
On that note, Jason Momoa was rumored to be appearing as Aquaman in the upcoming 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' film, but that had not been confirmed.
Now that it's apparent that the 'Game of Thrones' actor will be taking on the role of the marine life based superhero, there's a stronger chance he'll be seen in 'Batman v Superman'.
Another thing fans should note is that Gal Gadot will be reprising her role as Wonder Woman in her own film premiering 2017. She is already amongst the confirmed cast members to appear in 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice'.
