The mysterious plots on NBC daytime soap "Days of Our Lives", set in the fictional town of Salem, are getting more complex, and the probe into the murder of Nick Fallon (Blake Berris) is turning out to be far more complicated than anyone expected.

While Hope (Kristian Alfonso) is trying her best to find out who the person is who pointed a gun at Nick and pulled the trigger, the suspect list has become so large that she is unlikely to close her investigation anytime soon. Nick messed with so many people, and in the end had so many enemies that almost everyone has become a suspect and could have had a reason for murder.

However, it seems safe to assume that someone was not happy with Nick influencing Gabi (Camila Banus) to leave Salem with Arianna, and that disgruntled person could be the culprit.

It is expected that once Hope narrows her suspect list to the family members remaining in Salem, she will begin interrogating them more intensely. Possibly, she will begin with Sonny (Freddie Smith) and Will (Guy Wilson).

Since Will happened to be the biological father of Arianna, it would not require a big stretch of the imagination to believe that Sonny was definitely one of the people most upset over the fact that the girl he was helping to raise was leaving Salem. This definitely makes Sonny one of the core suspects in Nick's murder.

However, even if Sonny is found to be a prime suspect, Hope will still have a long way to go before she can consider the case closed.

Meanwhile, the population in Salem appears to be dwindling rapidly with several major players leaving the series. It has become increasingly clear that the writers of "Days of Our Lives" will be introducing some new characters and could be bringing back some old characters from the past.  

While James Scott, Camila Banus and Alison Sweeney are all on the verge of leaving the soap opera, Nick Fallon too was killed recently. Will there be any further departures? Who will be coming in?
