Fans should get ready to see a new (but still familiar) face on their TV sets during the upcoming episodes of their favorite soap, 'Days of Our Lives'. Celebrity Dirty Laundry dishes out the latest scoop on the new addition to the DOOL cast.

This time around, a soap opera veteran has joined the cast and as filming for the series is in full swing. In fact, the new actress has already been filming with the soap for three months now.

Spoilers revealed that Melissa Archer, of 'One Life to Live' fame, has been cast onto 'Days of Our Lives', and will apparently appear in many episodes. Soap Opera Digest confirmed the news in a statement that reads, "OLTL fave Melissa Archer (ex-Natalie) has joined DAYS in a new role and is already filming. A show rep reveals that she will air later this fall."

Fans are surely excited about this as they can recall what a spectacular performance Archer had on OLTL, as Natalie Buchanan. On a side note, Melissa Archer is also known for her part as Evelyn Preston on the web soap 'Beacon Hill'.

However, there are no spoilers about the character that she's going to play on the show. Producers and writers have been seriously silent about the issue and are putting in a great effort to keep it a secret.

Regardless, with the news that Archer has been filming scenes in the town of Salem for three months, it's evident that she's going to play some sort of major role on the soap.

Rumors come into play at this point and say that she's going to be a love interest for some of the available bachelors around town. Some of the names that have come up are Daniel, Rafe, Lucas, and Chad (since he's returning in September).

Besides all that, the new addition to the cast could be a result of the expected departure of EJ DiMera and Sami Brady sometime soon.

'Days of Our Lives' airs everyday on NBC at its usual time of 1 pm.
