David Bowie News: "The Next Day" Singer Offered Role in Hannibal Cast / Would Play Killer's Uncle in NBC Series [VIDEO]
Are you a David Bowie fan? Do you NBC's new hit series Hannibal, based on the literary and film icon. Well good news on the David Bowie news world. The Thin White Duke has reportedly been offered the role of Hannibal's uncle according to showrunner Bran Fuller.
"We have reached out to David Bowie to see if he's interested and available," Fuller told E! News. "We would love for him to play Hannibal's uncle, who is a character from the literature and in the books."
Hannibal's uncle, Count Robert Lecter, is the relative who brings Hannibal in after his family is murdered by the Nazis. If Bowie signs on for the role, expect Robert's death to be postponed as long as possible.
Bowie has yet to comment on the offer or the prospect of starring in the show's second season.
Bowie hasn't ever been shy to shedding the role of singer/songwriter for something grander like theater or film. Bowie recently was featured in Christopher Nolan's The Prestige, where he played the part of Serbian-American inventor Nikola Tesla.
Bowie even made a small cameo in Ben Stiller cult-classic Zoolander.
Hannibal expects to be back in production some time August 2013. Will Bowie joing the NBC crew in Toronto, or will the Thin White Recluse burrow again?
