Darlene Zschech Cancer Update: ‘To Be Honest, I Am a Little Nervous... I Know Now What to Expect,' Singer Says Before Treatment
Former Hillsong worshipper Darlene Zschech shares her latest update on her rough Cancer journey as she entered treatment number 5 today of Chemotherapy.
Zschech announced on her blog in December that she was diagnosed with breast cancer after attending a routine mammogram. In her latest post she emphasizes that she still get scared but after number five she only has one more to go.
"This Monday, I go in for treatment number 5. To be honest, I am a little nervous, I guess because I know now what to expect," the psalmist wrote. Adding, "Yet, at the same time I am pretty focused on just getting in there and getting it done. Then, I can say ONLY ONE MORE TO GO!!"
Zschech's supporters having been very encouraging to her, she goes on to say, "Thank you for your continued prayers. Prayers that the side effects will be minimal and that the chemo does everything that it needs to do"¦ in JESUS NAME."
The singer and her husband committed to standing alongside Rwanda and work together in the rebuilding it. Unfortunately she will have to skip out on the upcoming missionary trip to the nation for the Global Walk of Hope. "I am SUPER sad at not being able to travel with the team and my hubby," she notes.
She ends the post by saying how grateful she is during this difficult time in her life to have real friends. "Gonna sign off now as we are heading off to our dear friends home for dinner. To be honest, I've never been so grateful for faithful, uncomplicated friends. Hallelujah! God is SO good," she concluded.
Many have labeled Zschech as a "pioneer of the modern worship movement." Her biggest song to date is "Shout to the Lord" as it has become one of the most famous modern worship songs of all time being sung by an estimated 25-30 million churchgoers since the song's release. Along with her husband they currently senior pastors of Hope Unlimited Church.
