'Daredevil' Season 2 Spoilers: Matt Murdock Clashes With The Punisher In A Familiar Comic Book Scene [TRAILER]
Daredevil is set to be punished by The Punisher, transforming a comic book scene in a more fast-paced plot in the television screen, in Netflix's upcoming "Daredevil" season 2.
The introduction of The Punisher in Netflix's "Daredevil" season 2 would quake Matt Murdock's world, along with a fast-paced, more romantic, and more complicated storyline, according to Entertainment Weekly.
On Dec. 29, the publication tweeted a photo of a chained Daredevil, along with Jon Berthal's The Punisher. In caption, Entertainment Weekly wrote on Twitter, "Exclusice: @Daredevil season2 to have faster pace, Punisher morality debate." The post got more than 500 re-tweets and more than 400 favorites.
Interestingly, the new "Daredevil" season 2 shares some similarities with a moment in the comic books, wherein The Punisher overpowers Daredevil in a fist combat, according to International Business Times. It has been added that in the aforementioned comic book scene, Daredevil finds himself on a rooftop when he wakes up while The Punisher places himself and a rifle in front of Daredevil's gun.
The Punisher is now viewed as a "divisive" character, since Marvel and DC superheroes do not use guns for combat, as a rule of thumb. However, this general rule has exceptions, which include Hellboy, Deadpool, and Captain America, in his battle during the World War II.
In his interview with Entertainment Weekly, "Daredevil" showrunner Doug Petrie said that viewers watching the show would be rooting for the guy with a gun, but they were also going to force people, the way they forced Murdock, to second-guess themselves.
Petrie added that they were stirring the pot and were aware of the headline where they lived and they were trying to get people to think.
With the interesting encounter between the superhero and the villain, fans are yet to witness how Murdock's mindset law and order collides with The Punisher's marshal law morals.
Netflix's "Daredevil" season 2 is set to premiere in televisions in 2016.
