‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 19 Recap, Latest Results News: Lea Thompson Eliminated, Sadie Robertson Perfect Score
Broadway performer Lea Thompson was sent home after being eliminated in the quarterfinals of 'Dancing with the Stars', while Sadie Robertson garnered a perfect score for her foxtrot threesome performance.
The quarterfinals of 'Dancing with the Stars' was divided into two parts: America's Choice, where voters were given the chance to assign dance styles to the couples, and a dance trio, which features the couple pairing up with a male or female pro dancer.
Thompson and her pro partner, Artem Chigvintsev, were eliminated on 'Dancing with the Stars' after garnering a total score of 70 out of 80 for their samba performance and Paso Doble trio.
Thompson claimed that out of everything she would miss about performing on the show, she would miss her partner, Chigvintsev, the most.
"I definitely inspired myself," Thompson said, "The dancing was great. It was so fun. I'll never forget it."
The elimination came down to Thompson and Chigvintsev against 'Duck Dynasty' star, Sadie Robertson, and her pro partner, Mark Ballas. The latter pair won with a total score of 73, and were safe to stay for another week.
Robertson and Ballas nabbed a 40 out of 40 score for their threesome foxtrot dance with Emma Slater, and made history on the show for having a female celebrity dancer perform alongside a professional dancer who was also female.
The pair scored only 33 out of 40 for their jive dance, but showed a better performance with their trio dance despite Robertson having to improvise a few steps for the routine while mid-performance. Judge Len Goodman even claimed that he wanted to hold up an "11" paddle to show his appreciation for the performance.
Ballas originally wanted a male dancer to join him and Robertson, but the dancer he had in mind was taken by another couple. In the end, Ballas and Robertson invited pro dancer Emma Slater.
"I feel like I made the right decision," Ballas said, "It's never been done before and I always kind of like to strive to do things differently. It went all according to plan for the most part."
Robertson, who is the show's youngest competitor, and Ballas placed fourth in the quarter finals. They are joined by dancing couples Janel Parrish and Val Chmerkovskiy, Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson, Bethany Mota and Derek Hough, and Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd.
'Dancing with the Stars' airs Mondays, 7 pm on ABC.
