Two Strangers Suffer Horrific Burn Injuries, Fall in Love After Meeting at Hospital, Marry at Church Where Man's Accident Took Place (VIDEO)
In an amazing story of love overcoming all, two burn victims whose lives were in danger from separate accidents, have met together during their recovery and have gone on to marry. Dallas Wiens suffered horrific burns after falling on a live power cable while working at his church. Jamie Nash also nearly died from her burn wounds after a foolish text-driving accident. However, two tragic stories came together and the two married after meeting and falling in love at the hospital they were taken to following their accidents. It is a love story that has now gone on to inspire people all over the country.
In 2008, Weins a Construction worker, was doing some work at his church when he suffered life-threatening burns after falling onto a live power cable, which seared his face. The accident left him both burned and blinded.
Wiens went on to become the first man ever to receive a full-face transplant in America. Two years and 40 surgeries later, he now has a new face, glass eyes, new lips and a new nose. Wiens' life before the accident was troubled, and he admits now that he misses nothing about his past life except his eyesight, according to reporternews.com
In 2010, Jamie Nash, suffered 3rd and 4th degree burns that scared 75% of her body, after having an accident while texting and driving, near Forth Worth, Texas.
The two were both treated at Parkland Memorial hospital in Texas, and met there at a support group for burn victims. Shortly after, they fell in love. They were both in critical condition and faced the possibility of dying but fate had another plan as they found one another.
They wed this year at the very same church where Wiens had his accident and lost his face.
In a recent television interview Wiens told Inside Edition, "The worse event in my life happened at that church, and the beginning of my new life should happen at that church. That was how I made my decision."
Nash designed her wedding dress herself to accentuate her wounds.
"My scars are who I am, and I'm not going to hide it from anybody," Nash told Inside Edition.
Together, they work with a foundation that advocates the dangers behind texting and driving. Jamie Nash Wiens, now travels the country warning young people about the risks of texting and driving and uses her story as a testament to that. "Our life is incredible," Nash said. "We are so much in love."
