Daft Punk 2013 World Tour Teased by Pharrell Williams But Denied by 'Robot' Camp
The long awaited, much anticipated new album by Daft Punk may not be followed directly by a tour like most artists.
According to the NY Post, Williams talks about a Daft Punk tour next year and him being a part of it, but the "Robots" team have denied any current touring plans.
The duo have selected Wee Waa, Australia as the location to kick off their new album. Daft Punk will not actually perform at the Wee Waa Showground on the night of May 17 but only playing music videos and streaming the full album, which will be streaming online worldwide as well.
Williams is a collaborator on two tracks on the upcoming Daft Punk new record, "Get Lucky" and "Lose Yourself to Dance". Both songs Pharrell is on feature Nile Rodgers as well.
Daft Punk have always been elusive with their touring which is part of what adds to their mystique.
The new album, Random Access Memories releases on May 21st and has gotten much of its hype based on early trailers released at Coachella festival in California and the following week during Saturday Night Live on NBC.
When their first single, "Get Lucky" released officially it set streaming records on Spotify for a single day and went to #1 on U.K. iTunes.
