Daft Punk New Album & Tour 2013 News, Pharrell Williams & Chilly Gonzales Talk Daft Punk New Record (VIDEO)

Every day new stories are coming out about one of the most anticipated records of the year.  Daft Punk's new album, Random Access Memories drops on May 21st and the buzz grows stronger every day.

Their lead single, "Get Lucky" is already making huge noise.  The song teams up with producer/singer Pharrell Williams and funk legend Nile Rodgers.  Their new single, "Get Lucky" has gone to #1 in U.K. according to Billboard.

"The idea of people collaborating is cool," Pharrell Williams told Rolling Stone. "But I think more than anything else I'm just excited about the change, a new wave in music. There's something happening in the ether, and you know about it or you don't. And if you know, it's because you're probably somewhere engineering the change. If you don't know about it then you're probably somewhere missing your call, and you're gonna end up chasing it."

Chilly Gonzales on the other hand is not a big fan of collaborations but saw teaming up with Daft Punk too good of an opportunity to pass up.  Gonzales told Rolling Stone, "You make exceptions for people who are in possession of some true key to the zeitgeist." He goes on to say Daft Punk most likely picked him because of his skill with harmony and says it is an underused tool today in pop music.

The single first appeared at Coachella festival in California when before the Yeah Yeah Yeah's set, they showed a preview video teaser of just over a minute long to the surprised and excited crowd (see above video).  Then SNL played another longer teaser and the buzz was official.

"Get Lucky" set record number's on the social media music site Spotify and has been selling very well on itunes as well.

Fans can expect to hear a different side of Daft Punk as they step away from trendy computerized sounds of past albums in favor of a more unique sound.

May 17th will be a worldwide online stream of the new album and music videos live from Wee Waa, Australia.  However, no current live performance dates are availalbe yet for Daft Punk.  Fans everywhere are hoping that will change soon.
