Daft Punk New Album Launch in Wee Waa, Australia, The Duo Was a No Show, Watch Footage from Live Launch Event (VIDEO)

The official live album streaming party for Daft Punk's new album Random Access Memories was last night in the little town of Wee Waa, Australia.

People are calling this one of the best promotional campaigns for a album ever done. No one had heard of Daft Punk for several years (besides the Tron soundtrack) but they are back now with the most anticipated album of the summer.

This had been anticipated for months since they released the official date. When news first broke of the event, fans were stoked because they thought this would kick off some actual tour dates where Daft Punk would play live, however news eventually spread that this would not be a live performance by the duo but only a live listening party.

Fans who planned on attending the Wee Waa show were still holding out hope that the duo would at least make a surprise appearance during the night. Unfortunately this did not happen either.

From the video posted above, the fans still seemed to have a great time and enjoy a big party put on thanks to Daft Punk and the city of Wee Waa. At least the little town got to have a few minutes of global spotlight.

The new album officially releases on Tuesday but iTunes made it available to listen on live stream for people to hear this week.

What do you think of the new Daft Punk record, Random Access Memories? Does it live up to the hype?
