Daft Punk is scheduled to launch their new album Random Access Memories at a rustic agricultural fair in the tiny town of Wee Waa, Australia. The May 17 show will also serve as a "global album launch party."

Daft Punk's first album in eight years, Random Access Memories features contributions from Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, house producer Todd Edwards, Animal Collective's Panda Bear, and guest vocals from Pharell Williams and Julian Casablancas.  

"Two androids are bringing soul back to music," Edwards said in a video posted this week. Edwards later said Random Access Memories captures the American "west coast vibe" citing comparing the new album to bands like Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles and the Doobie Brothers.

Daft Punk fans may be a little shocked with the move away from over processed electronic sounds on Random Access Memories. Instead, on the new album, Daft Punk is moving towards a more human element.

"There's this thing today where the recorded human voice is processed to try to feel robotic," Thomas says, referring to the undying AutoTune vogue. "Here, we were trying to make robotic voices sound the most human they've ever sounded, in terms of expressivity and emotion."

Though some rumors surrounding a Daft Punk 2013 tour are circulating the web, the duo confirms no dates are set in stone.

"We want to focus everything on the act and excitement of listening to the album. We don't see a tour as an accessory to an album." When they do finally hit the road, he added, it will be with a career-encompassing set list, not one overly focused on the new material.

Daft Punk's Random Access Memories is scheduled for a May 21 release via Columbia Records.
