Curse of Naxxramas Release Date, Price: Hearthstone Expansion Launches July 22

As of today, July 17, Blizzard Entertainment announced the release date for the first segment, or "wing" of the new Hearthstone expansion, 'Curse of Naxxramas'. On July 22, players will be able to access the first wing for free for about a month, after that, additional wings will be released one at a time costing $6.99 or 700 in-game gold.

The new expansion to the game will bring with it the element of single player AI gameplay. As the game is, for the most part multiplayer only (besides the tutorial), this is the first time players will be able to grasp some sort of story from the game.

Players who progress through the series of wings will receive rewards like special addition cards that can be used in multiplayer mode against others. Fans can expect challenges in the form of bosses that will surely test their ability to form cohesive decks as well as strategically play the cards within them.

Blizzard made this announcement about the upcoming expansion launch event, "Curse of Naxxramas goes live in the Americas region for Windows®, Mac®, and iPad® on Tuesday, July 22, starting with the Arachnid Quarter, the first of five creepy wings that will be released weekly after the gates are opened. The Arachnid Quarter will be free to play during the Curse of Naxxramas launch event, which will last roughly a month. Those brave enough to step foot into the Arachnid Quarter during the launch event will unlock it permanently for free. Check out our recent blog for further details on how to access the Arachnid Quarter and the subsequent wings of Naxxramas."

All five wings of the expansion will run the player $24.99, which fans thought was very fair, one user had this to say on Battle.net, "I was saving gold but I realized that $25 is ridic cheap for a game this good"

Gamers can spend the cash or save up in-game gold by winning matches to buy each wing for 700 gold.
